Preaching to Angulimala Posture

พระพุทธองค์ประทับ ณ พระเชตะวัน เมืองสาวัตถี ทรงทราบว่าอหิงสกะ ซึ่งบัดนี้ถูกชักนำให้หลงผิดจนต้องไปไล่ฆ่าผู้คน กลายเป็นองคุลิมาลโจร และกำลังจะทำกรรมหนักขึ้นเพราะผู้ที่กำลังจะถูกฆ่าคือมารดาของอหิงสกะเอง องคุลิมาลกำลังจะทำอนันตริยกรรม จึงเสด็จไปขวางทาง ตรัสให้องคุลิมาลโจรสำนึกถึงผิดชอบชั่วดีได้ พระพุทธวาจาที่รู้จักกันดีในเรื่องนี้คือ "เราหยุดแล้ว แต่ท่านยังไม่หยุด" องคุลิมาลได้อุปสมบทในพระพุทธศาสนาและบรรลุธรรมเป็นพระอรหันต์ในกาลต่อมา

While the Lord Buddha was staying at Jetavana temple in Savatthi, he acknowledged that Ahinsaka was falsely led to commit bad sin by killing a lot of people and he would turn to be 'Angulimala' bandit. One day, he was going to commit the worst sin by killing his own mother, so the Lord Buddha rushed to stop such wrong doing. He preached to Angulimala. HIs most well-known speech in this incident was that "I stand still and you stand not still". Eventually, Angulimala came to the understanding and finally reached the enlightenment and became arahant.
