นางวิสาขาได้ทูลขอพร 8 ประการเพื่อถวายสิ่งของต่าง ๆ แก่ภิกษุ โดยยกเหตุผลมาประกอบเพื่อความเหมาะสมแก่การอนุญาต พระพุทธองค์ได้ประทานพรทั้ง 8 ประการแก่นางวิสาขา สิ่งที่นางวิสาขาขอให้ได้ถวายแก่ภิกษุและภิกษุณีได้แก่
1. ผ้าอาบน้ำฝน
2. อาหารสำหรับภิกษุอาคันตุก
3. อาหารสำหรับภิกษุผู้เตรียมจะไป
4. อาหารสำหรับภิกษุป่วยไข้
5. อาหารสำหรับภิกษุผู้พยาบาลภิกษุไข้
6. ยาสำหรับภิกษุผู้ป่วยไข้
7. ข้าวต้มที่ถวายประจำ
8. ผ้าอาบน้ำสำหรับภิกษุณี


Visakha had asked for eight blessings as to make offerings to the monk. She gave the appropriate reasons so that hte Lord Buddha would grant her the blessings. Visakha had requested that she make offerings to the monk and female monks including
1. Rain Robe
2. Food for visiting monks
3. Food for monk who were leaving
4. Food for sick monks
5. Food for monks who helped sick monks
6. Medicine for sick monks
7. Boiled rice that she offered to the monk and
8. Rain Robe for female monks
