Granting Pardon Posture (Sitting position)

มีภิกษุรูปหนึ่ง (กัสสปโครต) นึกตำหนิพระพุทธองค์ว่า จู้จี้ พิถีพิถัน และขัดเกลาเกินไป ภายหลังท่านคิดได้ว่าเป็นความคิดที่ชั่ว ด้วยความรู้สึกผิด ท่านได้เดินทางไกลจากตำบลหนึ่งในแคว้นโกศล ไปจนถึงเมืองราชคฤห์ แคว้นมคธ เพื่อทูลขออภัยโทษ พระพุทธองค์ประทานอภัยโทษแล้วตรัสว่าพระองค์ทรงตำหนิพระภิกษุที่ไม่เอาใจใส่ต่อสิกขา (การศึกษาและปฎิบัติตามพระธรรมวินัย) และทรงสรรเสริญพระภิกษุที่เอาใจใส่ต่อสิกขา ไม่ว่าพระรูปนั้นจะเป็นพระใหม่ หรือพระเก่าที่บวชนานแล้วก็ตาม

Once there was a monk named Kassapagotta who blamed the Lord Buddha was too grumble, too punctilious and too disciplined. He later realized it was a wrong attitude and felt guilty. He then took long journey from a town in Kosala to Rajagaha to make a apology. The Lord Buddha forgave him and said that he would blame only the monk who didn't pay attention to learning and practicing dhamma. He admired monks who paid attention to learning dhamma, either novices or those who ordained for a long period of time.
