First Vinaya Posture

ในสมัยที่พระพุทธเจ้าประทับอยู่ที่เมืองเวรัญชรา พระสุทินน์ บุตรเศรษฐีได้ถูกบิดาขอร้องให้สึก ถ้าไม่สึก ก็ขอให้พระสุทินน์เพาะพืชพันธุ์ไว้เพื่อสืบวงศ์ตระกูล พระสุทินน์จึงได้ทรงร่วมประเวณีกับภรรยาเก่าตามคำขอร้อง ต่อมาท่านเดือดร้อนใจ แจ้งให้ภิกษุทั้งหลายทราบ ความทราบถึงพระพุทธเจ้า ทรงติเตียนพระสุทินน์ที่ทำกรรม อันเป็นอันตรายต่อการประพฤติพรหมจรรย์ ไม่สมควรอย่างยิ่งแก่สมณะ จึงทรงบัญญัติสิกขาบทว่า "ภิกษุเสพเมถุนต้องขาดจากความเป็นภิกษุทันที" นับเป็นปฐมบัญญัติ คือ ข้อแรกในพระวินัยของพระภิกษุ

While the Lord Buddha was staying at Veranja. Sudinna Bhikku - a millionaire's son was asked to leave the monkhood, otherwise, he should keep on his family clan. Sudinna Bhikku then decided to have sexual intercourse with his wife as requested. However, after such doing, he felt guilty, he informed to the group of monks. The Lord Buddha had acknowledged and blamed Sudinna Bhikku for committing the sin which was against the monk's disciplines. So he wrote the first sermon that the monk who got involved with sexual intercourse must leave the monkhood immediately. It became the first rule of the teaching about the disciplines of monk.
