Stopping Mara Posture

หลังจากตรัสรู้แล้ว ขณะที่พระพุทธองค์ประทับนั่งอยู่ใต้ต้นไทรที่พักของคนเลี้ยงแกะ พญามารหลังจากพ่ายแพ้ก็เศร้าโศก นั่งร้องไห้พลางรำพึงว่า "บัดนี้สิทธัตถะไม่อยู่ในอำนาจของเราแล้ว" ธิดาของพญามารเข้ามาปลอบ และได้อาสาบิดาไปประเล้าประโลมล่อลวงให้พระพุทธเจ้าตกอยู่ในอำนาจ ด้วยอิตถีมายาต่าง ๆ แต่ล้มเหลวยิ่งกว่าบิดาเสียอีก เพราะพระพุทธเจ้าไม่ทรงแสดงอาการผิดปกติแม้แต่น้อย และไม่ลืมพระเนตรมองเลย (นอกจากยกพระหัตถ์ขึ้นแสดงอาการห้าม)
