Vajra Posture (Full Lotus Posture)

หลังจากที่พระมหาบุรุษ รับหญ้าคาจากนายโสตถิยะแล้ว ทรงปูลาดที่โคนต้นโพธิ์ แล้วประทับนั่งพร้อมกับอธิษฐานความเพียรครั้งสำคัญว่า "หากไม่ตรัสรู้ ก็ไม่ลุกจากที่นี่ ไม่ว่าเลือดและเนื้อกายจะเหี่ยวแห้งจนถึงสิ้นชีวิตไปก็ตาม" ด้วยพระทัยที่แน่วแน่และมั่นคง พระองค์จึงชนะอุปสรรค แล้วได้ตรัสรู้เป็นพระพุทธเจ้าในเวลาต่อมา

Receiving bundles of grass from Sotthiya, the Great Man scattered it and made it his seat under the Banyan tree. He made a vow, "Skin, sinew and bone may dry up as they will, my flesh and blood may dry in my body, but without attaining complete enlightenment I will not leave this seat." With his strong determination, he achieved enlightenment.
