Stopping Payathi Posture

ครั้งหนึ่งเมืองไพศาลี เกิดสถานการณ์เลวร้ายทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคม (ข้าวยากหมากแพง โจรผู้ร้ายชุกชุม และเกิดโรคระบาดทั่วเมือง) ชาวเมืองต่างเห็นพ้องกันว่า จะต้องไปทูลเชิญพระพุทธเจ้ามาปัดเป่าภัยพิบัติให้ เมื่อพระพุทธองค์เสด็จถึงเมืองไพศาลีตามคำกราบทูลเชิญของกษัตริย์ลิจฉวีแล้ว ทรงรับสั่งให้พระอานนท์สวดรตนสูตรและประพรมน้ำพุทธมนต์ ให้กำลังใจประชาชนต่อสู้กับสถานการณ์เลวร้ายด้วยการประพฤติธรรม พร้อมทั้งตรัสสอนให้รู้จักเสียสละความสุขเล็กน้อยของตนเพื่อประโยชน์ส่วนรวม จึงจะพบกับความสุขที่แท้จริง ในที่สุดเมืองไพศาลีก็กลับคืนสู่สภาพปกติด้วยพุทธานุภาพ

Once, social and economic crises emerged in Vaisali (high prices of goods, a large number of thieves and epidemic). Local people unanimously agreed to invite the Lord Buddha to alleviate the crises. When the Lord Buddha arrived at Vaisali, following King Licchavi's invitation, he asked Anada to preach Ratanasutta and perfused holy water. He encouraged people to fight against the crises with dhamma. He also taught people to sacrifice some little happiness for the community. They would lead to the real hapiness. At last, with dhamma, the city resumed the normal situation.
